Rules - Term’s & Conditions

 

Competition is open to all competitors from Ireland and the United Kingdom. The competition is for over 18’s only.

 

Heats

July Wed 5th / Wed 12th / Wed 19th / Wed 26th

August Wed 2nd / Wed 9th / Wed 16th / Wed 23rd

Location Sandino’s Water Street Derry

 

Each heat will have 4 contestants who must perform 4 original songs and one cover version.

The cover version can be a song of your choice and in a style of your choice.

 

Judging - Heats

During the heats, there will be an audience and online vote.

Audience vote will count for 50% of the vote and an online poll will count for 50% of the vote.

The online poll will run until the Tuesday prior to each heat and the winner of that heat will be announced at 7 pm on Tuesday.

 

Once competitors have been allocated a heat date this will not be changed, if you cannot attend you will lose your place and this spot may be offered to a previous competitor.

 

For the heats there will be no door charge for the audience to attend, please note that to attend you will need to apply for a free ticket on our ticketing platform, links will be supplied on our social pages. No ticket, no entry.

 

Final Sunday 3rd September

Location Main Venue Sandino’s Water Street Derry

 

The final will have 9 contestants, The winner of each heat, and one wild card entry all must perform 3 original songs.

 

Judging - Final

In the final there will be four special guest judges and an audience vote, there will be no online vote.

The guest judge's vote will count for 50% of the vote and the audience will count for 50% of the vote.

 

For the final, there will be a door charge for the audience to attend. Tickets will be £6+bf each or £8 pay at the door. Advance online tickets will be available from www.musiccapital.org.

 

Prizes

1st Prize £500

2nd Prize £200

3rd Prize £100

 

Prizes will be paid by BACS (Bankers' Automated Clearing System) within twenty-four hours into a bank account of your choice on receipt of the following information.

Winners must supply the following, Name on Bank Account, Bank Name, Bank Account Number, and Bank Sort Code.

For international payments will need the following, BIC (Bank Identifier Code) and IBAN (International Bank Account Number)

Finalists, if for any reason you cannot attend the final you will automatically lose your place and this spot may be offered to a previous competitor.

Music Capital reserves the right to change or amend any part of this competition, its date, or its rules at any time.
